How we raise our cattle

Dun Rite cattle are raised on grass and finished on a balanced grain and forage-based diet on our first-generation ranch in Bentley, Alberta. Doug and Katie Roxburgh have built the operation since 2006 with a focus on genetics, animal care, and consistency. Which means every cut you receive traces back to a single, known source.

What CRSB and VBP+ certified means

CRSB (Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef) and VBP+ (Verified Beef Production Plus) are third-party verified certifications that confirm our operation meets national standards for animal care, food safety, environmental stewardship, and biosecurity. These aren't self-reported claims. They're audited credentials that matter to the retailers, foodservice operators, and households who want to know their beef was raised responsibly.

Delivery and storage

All orders are delivered frozen in cryovac packaging. We'll contact you after your order to arrange delivery. Free local delivery runs every Wednesday. Cryovac-frozen beef keeps for up to 12 months in a standard chest freezer. Once thawed, cook within 3-5 days.
